What have you learned about speed agility and footwork for squash?

With 6 Squash Conditioning sessions complete, the pace of footwork drills have progressively increased. I was guilty of being slightly flatfooted and therefore slow to be positioned on the court correctly for the next stroke. The drills have not only made me more nimble around the court but also court and body position are greatly improved.

How have you seen your game change and improve throughout training?

While I understood that returning to the T was the key to better squash I frequently found myself stuck at the back of the court and not in a position to get to short and drop shots. The drills that Chris has introduced trains the body to return to the T and I am now making many more of the shots that previously I had no chance of getting to. As an indicator while in the lower end of the mini leagues I have won 8 consecutive games which is mostly down to court positioning, not being too close to the ball to allow a full stroke and not being out of puff halfway through a game.

How has it transferred to your sport of squash?

Starting to really enjoy my squash and seeing the benefit of Conditioning Coaching has made me compete for a greater percentage of shots. I feel like I am more in control during rallies by simply returning to the T. I'm also not blowing as hard and recovering much quicker between rallies and games.

Would you recommend squash players to train with me and why?

Chris has provided a positive training environment which with the variety of progressive drills really has improved my squash. There is still a long way to go although I no longer dread playing seasoned players and am steadily winning more points.

I would highly recommend Chris as a Squash Conditioning Coach and believe he can make a difference to players at all levels.
